You're lucky, we had to type through the snow, uphill both ways...  I 
think we had Royals too, but even in the '70's we still had to learn on 
manual.  Mom's selectric with a correction key seemed like a brilliant 
innovation!  Even today I tend to pound a keyboard maybe harder than 
necessary, anymore.

Oh, you guys think you're so old?  My college roommate translated 
Akkadian and did typesetting in cuneiform.  I am totally NOT joking, she 
was a doctoral candidate in Ancient Near Eastern Languages.  She's the 
one whom I asked what was the best answer to the Monty Python & The Holy 
Grail question:  What is the capitol of Assyria?  She thought about it 
and said that the capitol changed a couple times but the best answer for 
the longest time was Nineveh.  There, now you too can cross the Bridge 
of Death safely [as long as you are certain of your favorite colour].
