hi, the List!

thanks to everyone who's responded, on and off-list - I have to admit it
didn't occur to me to use the other Alexander Napier texts as a baseline
for cost, although I did find them (repeatedly...). I hope someone on the
list ends up with this at a price that contents buyer and seller!

yes, I did notice the ... um, creative mathematics. I suspect we're
running into the same "old=_old_" equation which bedevils traditional
recipes, folk music and anything else where "more than a hundred years old"
is inevitably seen as "ancient"...

We are modern people with egalitarian instincts deliberately creating a
society that combines feel-good communalism with hierarchical, exclusionary
elitism. It should not be surprising that it leads to the occasional
cognitive dissonance. (Tangwystl verch Morgan Glasvryn, Silverwing's Laws 90).
