All of this shepherds pie talk makes me want to try a little experiment as far as the veggies are concerned ...
Lamb and gravy
onions
rosemary, thyme, pepper, salt
potatoes for the crust ...
And now for the kicker ...
kale!
Let the cries of horror commence. But I adore iron-rich veggies, and kale is traditionally eaten with lamb in Scotland. Why not instead of using bland mixed veggies, thaw out some kale and put it in?
I'm off tomorrow, I might try to make it then ...
