[Sca-cooks] Parasites, was Bugs

Seen a few people ask what part of a Black Walnut is used to kill
internal parasites. It’s the hull, and fresh juice from the hull.

It works well but ask anyone who was one of the trees around their place
and they’ll tell you that it can be a pain at times. It’s like
sunflowers in that it will kill almost any other plant around itself to
get rid of the competition and is also poisonous to some animals, like
horses (sorry, can’t remember all of them at the moment.)

And just in case anyone can find some, they are a pain to crack and the
hulls are also useful as a purplely/brownish dye. So wear gloves unless
you like having purple hands.

Take It Easy,
James P.
