I think it's just confusing--- and there also seems to be
differences between the versions of Le Menagier too.

  I noticed that Wheaton has a note on page 236
that she has used Armand Machabey's La Metrologie dans
les musees de province and Bruno Kisch's Scales and Weights.
She notes that there were regional variations and that one ought
to see the first book as regards those.

Has anyone seen these books?
