Maybe.  Even a "pinch of this and dash of that" style cooks might want 
to verify that they had equal weight amounts of different spices in a 
mixture.

You could do this at my house;  I have balance-scales for jewel-sizes 
and for small food portion sizes.  I really need a good set of chains 
and pans for the larger one though, for some reason my late auntie 
seemed to have misplaced the original ones.  One of those "In My Copious 
Spare Time" projects.  If I could locate a pair of identical hand-size 
brass saucers this would simplify matters considerably.
