Maybe not. A lot of it depends upon whether you are talking about the 
white or the sweet potato. They are likely to be cooked somewhat 
differently and in fact, since the records are unclear which they are 
speaking about, the conjectures about which was being used often come 
from the way that it is mentioned to cook them.
