[Sca-cooks] Useful things to do with fruitcake

It is the time of year when the Marthas of the world will tell you
absurd things like, "Popcorn as a packing material is a good thing."
Obviously, in her world, anything as common as a mouse simply doesn't
exist.

For those who live in a world where creatures will sometimes chew
through the walls of containers to get to the food stuffs within, the
fruitcake offers the perfect answer.

If last year's fruitcake hasn't yet taken on its brick-like texture,
freeze it. Then, take a sturdy bread knife, electric knife, or coping
saw, and slice the fruitcake in to thin shingles. Use these to line
packages containing edible material.

If the smell of the fruitcake barrier does not diswade a would be
infiltrator, the lining itself will convince an attacker that there's
really nothing nutritional to be found.
