i grew up in maryland with vapo in the punkin pie.... now 
i use half and half.  no big cultural (new mexico) 
thing... just think it tastes better.  and actually, half 
and half or milk tastes waaaaaaaaaaaaay better in the 
sweet potato/pecan/bourbon pie!
