"Dumplings" seems to cover both solid chunks of dough and thin sheets 
of dough wrapped around a filling, both cooking in a soup or stew. I 
imagine from your description you are thinking primarily of the former 
ones. I don't know if this file includes both types or not, but it 
might be worth a look:
