Diane Paxton's birthday party held (IIRC) at Marion Zimmer Bradley's house.

The SCA organized a demo at the World SF Con that year.  I planned to attend 
the demo, but didn't make WorldCon due to the unavailability of employment 
that summer (base closings deplete student jobs).
