a lot of us here in the outlands, esp new mexico, are just
starting to gear all of our stuff to propane or solar
lamps. so many fire restrictions that, hey... why get yer
hopes up.
a good propane fire pit can warm you, light you and make a
helluva bardic fire sans smoke.
last year, we were going to light the propane pit in
ruidoso camp ground, but the mr. ranger sirs wouldn't let
us. they were fascinated with it, but said if other
people using the campground see fire they will assume it
is okay and make their own, probably not propane. decent
enough argument, so we turned it off.
propane, the wave of the future. sigh!
