Over the last couple of years, English Heritage (which looks after various
archaeological sites and stately homes in England) has been publishing a
very nice series of fun and informative books on historical cookery and
historical gardens.

The culinary titles offer recipes (some a little gruesome for this
delicate palate) and historical comment, while the gardens titles look at
garden fashions, design and plants.

Full of color illustrations, these little books are very attractive and
relatively inexpensive. And we have made them even more inexpensive by
knocking 20% off the prices for our website customers. What could be
better than that? 30% off, I suppose, but Mr Brown would send me home with
a flea in my ear if we were to do that.
