No, it's not just you.  I don't know much about US prices, but I 
wouldn't be too keen to do a supper under NZ$3.50 per head, or a 
one-course repast under NZ$5 or a feast under NZ$8.50-- and that's 
assuming some pretty careful shopping and a lot more than 2-1/2 weeks 
planning time.
