[Sca-cooks] reading at my house

I'm kinda/sorta making my way through a survey text on women in early modern
England, and I *just* got a nifty book in the mail tonight from Brigit
(costuming text, woo-hoo!).
Mostly, though, I've been working on holiday gifts for friends and family,
which means not so much computer time. Although I have been drooling over
people's T-day descriptions. Mine was okay, but pretty pedestrian....
I don't have much in the way of food or cooking related items on this year's
wish list. I'm hoping for a new vegetable peeler--loved the IKEA one that I
had, but it died. A new knife would be nice, too. Period cookbooks, always
;o)...especially since I don't actually have that many. I want to get a
head-start in planning what I'm going to do for Lent next year.
Food related note: I did learn how to make a truly ugly "only its mother
would love it" garlic basket in a baronial arts workshop tonight.
