Andrew Dalby (author of 'Dangerous Tastes' and 'Siren Feast' - Greek
foods) will be giving a lecture in NYC for the Culinary Historians of NY on
Symposium: Ancient Greek Food on Dec 5. Then there's a lecture on Gastronomy in
Early China Jan 31, by Johanna Walton-Cohen (?) These lectures are pretty good,
if pricey. They usually cost about $30, which is the lecture and refreshments
related to the theme of the talk. The last one I went to, with Sally Grainger
and her husband about the new Apicius translation, had really great food.
