I've made Hais several times with roasted pistacios.  They are really 
difficult to find raw.  But, it turns out just fine, darned yummy in 
fact, with the roasted ones.  I do rinse the salt off of them before 
using them.

As for the price... ouch.  I don't think I paid that much for the 
organic ones I used last time...  Sorry.  Can't help you there.

BTW, has anybody noticed the similarity between hais and Lara Bars?  :)
