There was a study that showed a clear correlation between aluminum
and Alzheimer's disease. They found large quantities of aluminum in
100% of the brain tissue samples studied from deceased Alzheimer's
patients. However when they went back to validate the study they
realized that they'd used an aluminum-based stain to prepare the
samples, and when they repeated the study using a different (non-
aluminum) stain it turned out to be 0%. Serious "D'oh!"
