Caffeine doesn't deplete the body of iron.  It reduces the absorbtion of 
iron.  If you have a high or normal iron intake compared to the body's use 
of iron, no problem.  If you have a low iron intake, your body uses stored 
iron.  BTW, the tannic acid in coffee or tea is a greater barrier to iron 
absorbtion than the caffeine.  Calcium and high fiber diets also reduce iron 
absorbtion.
