Oh my, you poor person. You never had bacon or cracklin' in your cornbread
from time to time?
Usually when there was leftover cooked bacon from breakfast(which was rare)
it was cut or crumbled depending on who did the frying of the bacon and it
was added to the batter.

Interesting. I wouldn't have thought of that. Sounds like it might be
good. Do you cook the bacon until it is crisp, crumble it up and then
mix that into the corn bread batter?
