[Sca-cooks] possibly period crab recipe

my husband infomrs me that his mother's way of cooking crab was very simple
large pot of boiling water
small amont of apple cider vinegar
oregano

boil water, add vinegar, add oregano
add crabs,
cover
cook until red plus a few minutes
serve

she was Sicilian.  It sounds like a very basic kind of recipe, likely
re-created all over by people..... dunno if its period, but no reason why it
couldnt be.
