[Sca-cooks] Gender-bending signatures - Re: sops

Okay, since I confused the one name I couldn't glean the gender of with a similar one I could, I'd like to know if 'Bear' is a woman named Margaret or a man with the nickname (or given name or SCA name or SCA nickname) of Bear using Margaret's e-mail address. :)

The usage of "sop" to denote bread soaked in liquid or the act of soaking 
bread in liquid dates at least as early as 1000 CE.  The extension to "sops" 
as liquid dishes seems to occur in the early 14th Century.
