You would think that this is a "d'oh!" situation, but nut allergies can be very 
specific.  Someone may not be allergic to cashews, but very allergic to walnuts.
That warning is necessary for those people, to let them know there might be a
problem.  The packaging may be done in a place where they use the same machine for
all their nuts, so being specific would be to unwieldy to mention every nut they 
package...
