correcting TMJ, and if that's the case, you likely
want to avoid hard crunchy things for a while- the
reshaping they're trying to do to your jaw and its
muscle structure will cause you more discomfort if you
stress things which are in an "unnatural" position
anyway. But, if you're patient, and start by chewing
and speaking slowly, after a couple of weeks, you'll
have retrained yourself to deal with the situation. In
fact, you'll feel like you're back to normal, faster
than you think ;-)
