TO MAKE SALT WHITE, take a pint of coarse salt and three pints of water, and
put on the fire until it is all dissolved together, then strain through a
cloth or a strainer, then put back on the fire and bring to a good boil and
skim: and let it boil until it is all dry, and the little bubbles of water
become quite dry; then take the salt from the pan and spread on a cloth in the
sun to dry.
