A few years ago, my Barony eld a nice Yule event. The cooks had made a stew/soup thing that featured cream or milk and barley.
The dish was made in advance the day before and refigerated. Somehow, it fermented. When it was brought out, I thought I was going to gap, the smell of souring milk was awful Our seneschal, Duke Edric, took a taste and promptly went to throw up.

There was this one guy though who kept eating it, saying it was wonderful....to each their own, as long as I wasn't sitting next to him. Though his pregnant wife was, I can't see how she didn't throw up as well.

Wow...all these hilarious (well, years later, anyway) tales of bad dishes...it's like we're all sitting around a campfire telling scary stories. :)

When shall it be said in any country of the world, my poor are happy; neither ignorance or distress is to be found among them; my jails are empty of prisoners, my streets of beggars; the aged are not in want, the taxes not oppressive; the rational world is my friend because I am friend of its happiness; when these things can be said, then may that country boast of its constitution and government.
-- Tom Paine
