i gotta tell ya, most of us were at a loss with the little
sucker. most roasted one way or the other, and another
made goose meat pate. little strange looking but yummy.

however, due to all the mess, the winners have promised no
quite-so-messy meats next year.

several years ago, i instituted the idea that the
winner(s) put on the next one. that gets the winner out
of the pool for one year, and allows others to have fun.
i am happy to say that all the winners since have
embraced this idea. and the 'little sourvenier/gift' idea
(tea towel, canvas bag, etc) has continued as well.

oh, yeah... and it lets the cooks know what goes into
planning a siege cooking contest.
