Simple question, simple answer.  I customarily do not serve them at SCA 
events, nor other New World produce.  They tend to take people out of 
the Medieval mental mise-en-scene that we work so painstakingly to 
achieve.  Of course there are post-Columbian theme events and other 
exceptions, but this is how I deal with it.  My opinion, yours may vary.
