<<< In Sweden, where the Vikings hold wild feasts with mead and salt
fish,
kids do their horns today with cow or bullhorns, when playing "live".
It should be possible to buy them in a slaughterhouse, I assume they
are sold as "left overs". >>>
Raw horns are available. I don't know that they will fall in
Christianna's price range though. Also the cleaning of the horns can
take a while and probably can't be done in one day. One of the
easiest ways is apparently to place the horn near an ant pile.
smaller horns tend to be cheaper than larger ones, and since you'd
probably want smaller horns for children, that would help. Ready to
work horns are available, but are going to cost a bit more.
This file in the CRAFTS section of the Florilegium contains the
instructions for making drinking horns and other items from horn.
