That is not true, many of his shows do have a budget. The baseball
stadium one comes to mind. But we are getting off topic, so wouldn't
it be fund if a feast WE had to do didn't have a budget? :) There,
back on topic.

 BTW, He did do a colonial episode which required him to do follow the
methods and ingredients of that time frame, which I believe was late
1700's so not quite period, but along the same lines. They had a
couple of "learned people" there to help him.
