I believe "stondying" means a kind of thick paste, perhaps one you can
"stand" a spoon in.

Seems like we've had several discussions about stondying - there is that
cherry pudding dish that can be anything from a loose sauce all the way to a
firm cake - depending on the cook's interpretation (even 'thick paste'
leaves room for some interpretation).
