A Google search turned up some interesting things, one of which is accessible only by paying a $16 fee for the day. It is an article from 1899 about the cakes at nq.oxfordjournals.org/content/vols9-III/issue64/index.dtl . Don't know if any of the librarians on the list have a subscription to this journal.

"Not cakes at all, but small biscuits which were first supplied to the gentry and Members of the Scottish Parliament from a shop called "Luckie Fykie" in Waverley, Edinburgh."
