[Sca-cooks] Is couscous Medieval?

Thanks to all of you for this great information.  I did go to the Manuscrito
Anonimo and found some recipes there that include kouskous.  I have passed
the information along to the Med. Encamp. list.

A dish of that name appears repeatedly in different versions in 
Manuscrito Anonimo, the 13th c. Andalusian cookbook that Charles 
Perry translated.
