[Sca-Cooks] Password problem

Before anyone feels that there was some conspiracy on
my part to keep people out, let me put that to rest.
I didn't even KNOW a password was now required. I didn't
do it. Most likely what happened was that some aspects
of the server account were changed because it had a
habit of locking out some addresses. Bear brought this to
my attention and we fixed it. In the process the tag for
archive passwords was probably activated.

See? No conspiracy. No reason for keeping people out.

Actually, I felt this was a pretty open list. It isn't particularly
hard to join. I don't do background checks on anyone who
wants to subscribe. No fees. And I think I've only perma banned
one individual in the entire time this list has been in existence.

However, with flaming comments like the individual in question
posted, he would have gotten a stern warning from me on
proper etiquette of this list. This is not the Rialto and if he
had indeed read the archives then he would know the
correct behavior I expect.

Anyway, the tag has been removed and the archives should
again be open to all.

A lot of discussion would have been prevented if someone had
just sent me a private email asking about this.

Yers,

Gunthar

PS. Thanks for the defense of this list and myself. :-)
