Sorry to be jumping in at this late point, but if the 't' is a typographer's 
error, this could be related to 'lau' - meaning 'lukewarm', or figuratively 
'soft'. 'Laulich' would not be an uncommon derivation in some Central German 
dialects where lots of adjectives are '-lich'.
