On picking a seal a mealer gadget...
One of my primary concerns was availability of the bags. I ended up going
with the one that sealed, sucked ;) and that was about it, but whos bags I
could get a my local Fred Meyers (a PacNW based chain that isn't going to go
anywhere :)) as well as CostCo.
I actually had a "real" seal a meal but couldn't find the bags except
online. One may be able to use different bags on them, but I wanted to be
sure.

don't use it for bread unless you have the option of sealing without

Okay, why? Do you then end up with dried, rock hard bread? Or
something else?

(Who, after the comments about these here over the years, is probably
going to buy one, but last time he got serious about one, got tied up
in all the options and sizes and some that do containers as well as
bags etc, that no decision was made. I almost got one for this last
Gulf Wars, but was able to join a food plan with wonderful, although
non-period food, so didn't get one for this Gulf Wars)
There is a Florilegium file on this kind of thing, but it isn't
specific to the sealing type seal-a-meal type bags.
