[Sca-cooks] How old is barley water?

The 1st century C.E. doctor Galen, upon whose work much of medieveal medicine rests, was big on barley. IIRC he devoted an entire book to it. I can't recall off-hand if there is a barley water recipe, but I'll look it up when I get home.
