Well, Selene, as I said, your response speaks well of you, however, in
my experience, showing someone what unacceptable behavior is will
often help them more.

A friend of mine had a dog, a little miniature greyhound, which is a
very fragile breed. As a puppy, he had broken his leg, and was, of
course, carefully treated for it, and healed well, so that he ran and
played with the others as though the leg had never been broken.

Except when a human would start with, "Awwww, poor Woofie. His poor
paw... etc" at which poinr the dog would start limping, and go through
the entire routine as though his paw were still injured.

Please do not mistake me- autism is a very difficult disorder- I'm
well aware of that. And, its symptoms can be very unusual. But, we do
the lady no service by allowing the lady to act like a child and
ascribing her symptoms to autism. In fact, we do a disservice to
autistic folks everywhere, who are doing the best THEY can to reach
beyond their disability.
