I was just reading the latest Gourmet magazine e mail and
came across mention of this great educational opportunity:
Culinary Historians of New York
<http://email.condenet.com/cgi-bin5/DM/y/nnaA0L3HJw0NoF0COQm0EU> is
accepting applications for the Amelia Scholar's Grant, which promotes
research and scholarship in culinary history. Open to anyone (age 18 and
over), the $1,000 grant has, in the past, funded studies of the federal
America Eats project (which chronicled American foodways in the 1930s)
and research into the papers of agricultural chemist George Washington
Carver.

You don't have to be an academic or student to apply.
