Apparently not. I'm always surprised, as someone who has very seldom in my
llife had what you might call significant disposable income,
how seldom people who really need to cut back on their food expenditures
*who weren't raised that way* have any idea how to do it. All my life, I
stared blankly at magazine articles on how to save money on food and
household stuff-- they suggested things that involved more money than I
and my family ever had to spend.

The last two and a half years, living with someone from a very different
background than mine, has been an in-house seminar in different ways to
live.
