[Sca-cooks] OP Danish Soup

Came across this recipe and found it....cute.

Ollebrod
Beer and Bread soup
1/2 lb pumpernickle bread
2 1/2 cps. water
2 1/4 cups beer, preferably Danish
1 tbs. sugar
1 1" piece of cinnamon stick
grated rind of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp. salt or to taste
Fresh lemon juice to taste
Whipped cream or dairy sour cream

Break bread into pieces and soak in water until soft. Cook, stirring until
it becomes a thick smooth mush. Add beer and seasonings and simmer for 20
mminutes. If to thick, add a little water. Discard cinnamon stickand taste
for seasoning. Serve with whipped cream on each portion. Makes enough for 6
ordinary mortals or 3 Danes.
