[Sca-cooks] kitchen tips

In Northshield, the new sovereigns are crowned in morning court, and the
county/duchy thing is done in evening court, leaving the outgoing couple
the day to lounge around being nobody (the words I've heard said outgoing
couples use).

As for paying, usually everybody pays site fee unless the royals are
comped. Serving feast, OTOH, is a time-honored method for poor college
students to eat feast for free, and it's considered both greedy and
insulting to require servers to pay for feast. Then there was the event
steward who didn't want a server's feast, she wanted the servers to beg
their tables for leftovers. That went over *really* well.

Usually the server's feast and food for the kitchen help is figured into
the feast budget, so a feast for 150 will probably end up serving more
like 200, when you factor everybody else in. Extra treats for the kitchen
help are entirely up to the head cook.
