Well, they don't tend to be sweet, but how about the medieval dish,  
compost?
In the Florilegium FOOD section, as well as in various other references:

Or if you want a green salad but something definitely different from  
what you usually get these days, a period green salad with all those  
interesting greens. (also in the FOOD section)
