[Sca-cooks] Christmas Surprises

Iasmin described her latest kitchen panic to us with:
<<< 1:36 PM EDST: I put on my brand new, newly christened "Lucky"
cook's jacket
and apron on the theory that any help with luck can be good. I begin
thanking whatever gods and goddesses happen to be listening that I
recently
reorganized the freezer. I also curse myself for using up the last four
eggs in the house last night for dinner.
2:37 PM EDST: I sit back down, happy in the knowledge that we now
have side
dishes. On tap are orange-garlic balsamic glazed Brussels sprouts with
toasted almonds, roasted butternut squash and red potatoes with Herbs of
Provence, and strawberry cobbler with Calavados-sour cream biscuit
topping.
2:38 PM EDST: I open a bottle of wine. >>>
Huh? I think I missed something. How did you do this in an hour? It
would probably take me that long just to decide what to fix and get
to the store and buy everything and find substitutes for what wasn't
available :-( at the store.
Did you already have all these dishes cooked and ready to go, frozen
in the freezer? Even you just had the raw ingredients in the freezer
and your kitchen, I'm not sure how you could prep and cook all that
in an hour.
Or are you saying in that hour you planned what you would prepare,
but you still had to go purchase it, prep it and cook it?
