A minor quibble: I don't know if this is an issue for anybody one way  
or the other, but for sheer language purposes, it might be better to  
call the game "football" and trust the readers here (although  
certainly not many outside Americans) to know you don't mean American  
football.

"Soccer" is, by definition, played under a set of rules finalized in  
England in the 19th century, and while it is football, it's a pretty  
specific game.
