I am interested in how some of the early stone and shell work was done.  And
would welcome suggestions for resources to learn about:

 

--Stone hearths

--Stone building techniques, especially for kitchens and great halls (have
found some info so far on making stone arches)

--How stones were split or smoothed to get flat surfaces for floors

--How stones and shells were cut for mosaics

--Shell containers

--Shell handles and inlays

 

Any suggestions?
