I couldn't care less to be honest if that is part of a planned diet
like South Beach. I think these plans are a false hope for people
unless they make a commitment to lasting change in their dietary
habits. Following the plan may make you lose weight but what do most
people do when they are done? They go back to their bad habits more
often than not.
There is no escaping the fact that it is still governed by the old
equation of calories in must be less than calories out for weight
loss to occur. It is simple thermodynamics. My point is that it isn't
necessarily the source of calories that is all that important, it is
the quantity consumed. Plain and simple.
