I'm soooo glad I'm doing a sane diet. 30% fat, 30% carbs, 40% protein
(courtesy of www.jillianmichaels.com...so far, I've lost 60 lbs). I can eat
pretty much anything. I do have trouble getting all of my protein in, but
I'm lucky enough to like eggs. I avoid highly processed foods, and I work
on getting in more foods that are lower on the glycemic index. I suspect
that what I've got is similar to South Beach, without quite all the caveats
about "good" and "bad" carbs.
Can you have any grains at all? There are some very nice high-protein
cereals out there. Also, try smoothies made with fruit (if you can have it)
and some dairy, and some extra whey-protein isolate to bump the protein some
more. If you can, add a T or two of good peanut butter. (Watch it with the
whey protein--you want one that's *just* whey protein, and not one of the
varieties that's got additional crap like sweeteners in it).
