If everyone stops eating bananas, what happens to the people who work the
plantations? They probably start growing cocaine for a cash crop. Simply
boycotting bananas is not an answer. It won't hurt the fruit companies,
which are diversified corporations. It may irritate the governments a
little, but that won't be permanent. The people that will get hurt are the
little guys who lose their jobs.
