This was posted to our Kingdom list and I wanted to 
pass it on. 

Why? Because I think this is a very good example of
what a "Peri-oid" feast should look like. It isn't period
but gives a nice feel of a period meal. I know we are
all pushing for period food to be served but some folk
may feel they aren't ready for it or think their diners
will refuse a true period dinner. 

Too many cooks just ignore period and serve whatever
comes to mind and it is nice to see someone making an
effort to present a modern meal which will at least 
keep the period ambiance.

Yes, I would like more period food to be served but
I think this is a wonderful example of HG Cariadoc's
admonisment of "Don't let the great be the enemy
of the good."
